The environment

The area's essentials
The Ría de Muros, Outes y Noia doesn't end at the village. Whether you come for a week or a month, this is what we recommend to everyone who passes through O Coworking.

Castro de Baroña
A 1st-century Celtic hillfort on a rocky peninsula jutting into the Atlantic. No ticket, no gate: you walk from the beach and it appears. With the right light, it's one of the best photos you'll take in Galicia.

Santa María a Nova cemetery
A medieval cemetery with over a hundred guild tombstones — stone slabs with each trade's tools carved into them. Unique in the world. Ten minutes on foot from the coworking.

San Martiño church
A 15th-century Gothic façade, untouched, in the heart of town. You'll bump into it on any walk through the old quarter and it keeps surprising you.

Old town of Noia
Cobbled streets, arcades, coats of arms and manor houses. Noia was a major medieval port and you can still feel it. Short walk, open cafés and a guaranteed tavern.

Broña beach
Noia's big beach. At low tide, kilometres of cockle beds emerge and shellfish gatherers get to work. Also great for a run, a walk, or bringing your laptop out for a last hour.

Mirador do Castelo de Cando
A five-thousand-year-old dolmen hidden in an oak forest, ten minutes away by car. No signs, no guide, no one around. Best plan for a foggy Sunday.

Nafonso Bridge
A medieval bridge with twenty arches crossing the estuary between Noia and Outes. A twenty-five-minute walk from the coworking, always with a view. At low tide, the photo changes completely.

Praia das Furnas
A beach wide open to the Atlantic with rock formations and proper waves, in Porto do Son. Scenes from 'Fariña' were shot here. Twenty minutes by car, for when you really want to switch off.

Monte Louro and Xalfas Lagoon
A coastal lagoon right next to the sea, below a mountain with views over half of Galicia. Protected area, gentle walk, no crowds. Our favourite Sunday-morning plan.

Old town of Muros
A fishing town with stone arcades hugging the estuary. Cobbled streets, manor houses and the Praza do Curro. Fifteen minutes by car, but it takes a whole afternoon if you walk it slowly.

Area Maior beach
A kilometre and a half of white sand facing the ocean, just outside Muros (also known as San Francisco beach). Great for a sunset walk or dipping your feet in the Atlantic in August (cold but real).

Tremuzo viewpoint
The best view of the Ría de Muros, Outes y Noia, in Outes. Twenty minutes by car up a mountain road and the whole map opens up in front of you. If you're here for a week, don't miss it.
What to do in your free time?
Hiking
Spectacular trails along the coast and inland around the Ría de Muros, Outes y Noia. From coastal paths to riverside forests.
See trails on Wikiloc →Surf and water sports
Beaches like Testal, San Francisco or As Furnas. Ideal conditions for surfing, paddle boarding and kayaking in the estuary.
Gastronomy
Noia cockles, clams, octopus, empanada and local wines. The restaurants in Noia and Muros are an experience in themselves.
Beaches
Broña, A Gaviotas, Esteiro, Montelouro, Testal, Boa, Area Maior, As Furnas, Baroña, Aguieira... Huge, on the best Atlantic coast in Galicia.
Camino de Santiago
Noia is the end point of the Camino to Fisterra and Muxía. You can walk individual stages or welcome pilgrims in town.
Culture and heritage
Romanesque churches, centuries-old granaries, the historic centres of Noia and Muros. Living history around every corner.
